Now that my new EP has been out for a week, the time to really hit the promotion bandwagon has come. As stated in a previous blog post, I have already started getting flyers out to various cities in a number of States. But, that’s just the tip of the iceberg. Release review requests are starting to get sent out. Not only that, but a few radio hot spots are starting to feature the new music as well.

For example, Back Row Radio is now featuring the new release.

That’s pretty cool if you ask me.

Well, I bit the bullet and got the mic I wanted. On my way home from work today I stopped by the ol’ Guitar Center and picked up the Shure SM7B. I have been doing a lot of homework on the subject and I feel like I made the right choice. Since I am recording a deathcore EP right now, I am almost to the point that I am ready to write and record vocals. The issue here is that I don’t really have any experience with doing hardcore screaming style vocals. Regardless, I am excited to get in there and experiment with it.

I have the rhythm sections completely laid down on two songs. And I am in the middle of writing the third song. Once I am done writing the third one, and have laid down the official rhythm tracks for that song, I will be ready to start writing the lyrics for the EP.

In the meantime, I have been eyeing a record label or two. Even reached out to one in particular to just say hello. Other than that I have been keeping it casual and just writing some tunes. I am pretty happy with how it is turning out so far.
