Now that the Ignorance is Woe EP has been available for two weeks, I think it’s time for a Central Texas Starbuck Poster Promo Tour!!!
These flyers have gotten sent out to about 10 different States, an equal part to the northern and southern States. With that, I have decided it is time to spread out the rest of them locally. There are a few places, like local venues are hipster restaurants. But, the primary spot that we all know will always have the so called “community board” is going to be Starbucks.
Other than this promo push that I plan to do all at once on a single day very soon… I plan to take a step back from sending out flyers. I’ve been thinking about whether or not if I should put together some band merch; things like an epic deathcore shirt or a band logo sticker. I might… I might not.
Either way, once the Starbucks flyer flood happens, I will post on how it went.
Just for fun while relaxing this afternoon I thought I would mess around a bit with Photoshop. I snatched a few of the band promos from the new label that I am with, Raven Faith Records, and put together a before and after. I’m no expert, but I think the after images have a cleaner, smoother look. The first one is from a band called Rival Empire. The second is from Outside the Shadows. The second one was a little hard to clean up because it had a gradient type of affect already on the photo. Regardless, you should check OTS out. They have a new release coming up in a few weeks or so.
So, I had a few places come back to me with pictures of places that the flyer has started appearing. Just thought I would share a couple with you that got sent to me tonight while I was out on the town hanging with the family.
Well, the flyer for my recent EP release came in the mail today. And within the first few hours I have already gotten about 50 flyers mailed out to 10 different cities in 5 different States. In the next week I plan to hit this tactic pretty hard by reaching out to some of my old contacts from my tour days.
I’m not sending out large quantities to each location. Just a handful. The goal is to get each location to hit at least 3 major traffic locations; a music store, coffee shop, and record store, or even a local venue. It’s a grass roots approach. But, it’s a start.
